Description:

Bring the field trip to your school!

Digitarium portable planetarium system allow you to take the wonders of astronomy and bring them to your students in your very own buildings.  This easy to use system allows for physical modeling of the atmosphere in 3D.  You have the opportunity to experience some of the following:

  • Demonstrating Earth’s rotation
  • View the night sky, constellations and experience solar/lunar eclipses
  • Visit planets up close
  • Take a trip around the sun
  • Use integrated stories to guide lessons or create your own

This can be used with students at all ages, all grades that would cover Science and CS Standards.

 

Agenda:

Being a NIESC Member, this full day training will include:

  • Proper entry, seating and exit of the dome (fits 20 students or 15 adults)
  • Training and practice time using the iPad to navigate the solar system
  • Review of the built in stories or how to create your own adventure
  • Proper care and troubleshooting of the dome and projection system

The dome requires a ceiling height of 11 feet and is 16 feet in diameter.

Strategies:

This is a very hands-on training!  You will be on the floor, unpacking and setting up equipment so attendees need to dress comfortably.

The Digitarium is available to all NIESC Member School Districts.  We are hoping to see this used each week during the school year and is even available for summer school programs.  If you have questions, feel free to reach out:  lunsicker@niesc.k12.in.us

Event Cancellation Policy

NIESC Cancellation Policy

Registrants who notify NIESC of their cancellation on or before the registration deadline date will not be required to pay the registration fee.

  • Registrants who cancel after the registration deadline but one week before the workshop date or call to cancel on the day of the workshop, will pay 50% of the registration fee.
  • Registrants who neglect to call or notify NIESC of their cancellation will be responsible for paying the full registration fee.
  • On official school corporation weather-related cancellation days, registrants will not be required to pay registration fees
