The Environmental Education Association of Indiana and the Outdoor Learning School & Store will host an all-day professional development event on Monday, September 16th to provide educators, administrators and support staff with an in-depth look at the benefits of incorporating outdoor education into their students’ learning experience. Topics to be covered include:
-Tools and strategies for effective outdoor learning engagement
-Helping educators feel confident in presenting outdoor learning materials and managing their students in an outdoor setting
-Helping educators adapt outdoor learning activities to any schoolyard environment
-Locating curriculum resources, outdoor learning tools, and support
-EEAI’s Environmental Literacy Guidelines
-The data-supported benefits of outdoor education
-How outdoor education can support standards-aligned learning in ANY subject
-A guided outdoor learning activity

Participants should come prepared to spend time outdoors with appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather in their region on the day of the event. Outdoor activities will proceed rain or shine, with the exception of hazardous weather events. |
